Weathered Beauty

Near Dublin, TX is this Pontiac parked just on the out skirts of town. As I passed it I thought I had to turn around and take pictures of it. I'm so happy I did. So many favorites from these, but the last one here of the hood ornament with the gorgeous sun flare..........today, any way is my favorite.

Prairie Farms

Where I grew up we have Prairie Farms Dairy products. When I moved to Texas (many years ago) I was disappointed to find we didn't have them here. Just one of the things I miss from up there. Any who, when I was back for a visit a year ago I took these pictures of the neon sign out side their building in Olney IL. When I was back this past Nov 2007 it had been removed. I'm glad I got these pictures when I did. I also thought the sun light behind to tanks was pretty cool.

Main Street - Flora

This is Main Street in my hometown, Flora, IL. Business Rt 50. Years ago a bypass around the edge of town was built (new 50). Before the interstate highways Rt 50 was a majorly traveled road. I would like to see the places it passes through. I was on Rt 50 in Colorado last year and thought how neat it would be to travel this road coast to coast, a photographic journey.

Spent Sunflowers

I posted a while back on a sunflower field near my hometown. I had taken those pictures during a trip in the summer, when I returned in the fall for the Thanksgiving holiday this is what I found............sprinkled along the edge of the field where these sunflowers that although long since lost their yellow sunny color, I still found them breathtaking in their spent state.

Father

Back to my Homestead Project..........These few pictures of my father I took during my last visit while my parents still lived on the farm. I was heart sick for a long time just thinking about how he must have felt to leave his home...............he had been very ill and was just starting to turn the corner and get better...........in these pictures I can see his vulnerability. My father has always been a sentimental man. I know he is happy now, and I'm thankful for that. We all have our memories of home to cherish.

Studebakers

West of Fort Worth is this cool place off Hwy 80 near Weatherford that has all these old cars and trucks....................Get a load of the sign! It's so cool, I would love to do a portrait session there. Maybe someday.

My Favorite Flower

Sunflowers!

This field of sunflowers was just out side my hometown. Amazingly beautiful.............I love how they always face the same direction........towards the warmth of the sun.
Notice on the closeup a dew drop on the leaf.

Twenty Years..........

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Mark Twain

As I get older this seems more real...........I don't want to be disappointed.

Sara & Dax :) One Month to Go!

This cute couple has just one month to go before their wedding. I have known Miss Sara for nearly 10 years. Sara and Dax wanted something fun and fresh for engagement pix, so we headed down town Fort Worth for some late afternoon light. We had a great time and still I can't pick a fave from the session. Here are just a few from that day. I will post some wedding pix in May of this cute couple.

Midwest Sunset

A few years back while home for the Thanksgiving holiday I took these pix of the most incredible sunset I have ever seen. The colors were like no other I have ever witnessed, shades of blue, pink and orange. My family and I stood in the yard watching this beautiful show to the very end. I have forever appreciated a sunset, but to see this magnitude of beauty was truly a blessing.
